CART@Feature Art Fair

How can a community of artists be actualized in a situation of disillusionment, precarity and dislocation? Questions such as this were the focus of NO WALLS: COMMUNITY IN CONTEMPORARY ART, a panel held at Feature Art Fair on October 24, 2015. CART and Momus presented a panel examining two approached to artist communities that utilized tensions between the international and super-local.

CART@Cabinet

CART@CABINET  was a New York book launch and panel discussion for the Canadian art critic and writer David Balzer's book: Curationism: How Curating Took Over the Art World and Everything Else. The sold out event took place on Friday March 6, 2015, at Cabinet Magazine's Brooklyn space.

Tropical Frieze New York

On Saturday May 10, 2014, CART hosted TROPICAL FRIEZE, a post-fair cocktail party celebrating Frieze New York at Mulherin Gallery in New York. 
 

Guest artists for TROPICAL FRIEZE include Michael Caines, Caroline Larsen and Balint Zsako with works by Margaux Williamson.

 

 

 


CART Apartment

The CART community celebrated NY Frieze Art Week on Friday May 10, 2013 with CART Apartment, a one-night-only installation that showcased works by emerging and established Canadian visual artists in a Canal Street apartment. CART Apartment is also the first in a series of CART events that blur the boundaries between everyday life and culture, while providing creative alternatives to viewing contemporary Canadian art.

On Friday May 13, 2011 at Fig. 19, New York, CART NY celebrated the launch of CARTNY.COM, our channel for visual culture with news, articles, artist profiles, photos, video and more. This event also brought together CART NY's network of Canadian artists and arts organizations and featured music from special guest DJ Brendan Fallis. THE EXPAT EFFECT - THE ARMORY SHOW

A lecture series and learning event at the Armory Art Fair, featuring Canadian artists and curators living abroad. March 3 - 6, 2011. Meet a dozen Canuck artists who've taken a serious bite out of the Big Apple! Each day, three emerging talents will meet their public for an informal and interactive discussion – learn about their work, how they got here, the successes enjoyed and challenges overcome. After a lively discussion over a glass of wine, the participating artists will conduct a walking tour of The Armory Show. Please join us in celebrating 12 northern lights on the East River.
